Eli Roth? What does this name bring to your mind? I don't know for others but for horror fans it definitely brings to mind a sick n twisted fantasy. A gore fest panned by most as shock entertainment. Torture porn. And many other critical terms. Known as Hostel. Apparently a Takashi Miike tribute.
His first movie was Cabin Fever,but what hostel did for him was garner bad publicity which is anyways publicity. N it skyrocketed his stocks as a shock director with a penchant for gore. Which soon made him the darling of torture horror fans.
Now torture horror is not exactly a great genre. Who wants to see a fellow human being getting tortured brutally? Is that entertainment? I don't think so. But what he did in hostel was show reality. Like it was kind of a shock movie,but we all have such feelings from time to time. We hate some people so much that we are ready to harm them n see them crying out for help begging for mercy. How much we would like that? Sick,but true. But violence without reason is shit n i wouldn't think twice before trashing it. But Hostel wasnt impropable n thats what made it scary.
So now as we get ready to welcome Eli Roth's new movie The Green Inferno ,apparently a cannibal holocaust or ferox tribute!!! Wow now those movies were more brutal than anything on the planet. And only Roth could do justice. Afterall he describes himself as a part time psychopath!!! So waiting impatiently for it :) Roth bring it on !!!
