REVIEW: TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE NEXT GENERATION(1995)

TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. THREE WORDS ENOUGH TO GIVE YOU THE CREEPS. AND ALL BECAUSE OF THE BRILLIANT FIRST MOVIE BY TOBE HOOPER. AND AFTER THAT EVERYTHING WITH THAT NAME ELICITS A GOOD RESPONSE. N WHEN THIS MOVIE AIRED ON TV I WAS NOT GONNA MISS IT. COME WHAT MAY. N I DIDNT. BUT SOMETIME LATER I REALIZED I SHOULD HAVE. N CONSOLED MYSELF BY SAYING- EVERY EXPERIENCE IS GOOD EXPERIENCE :)

SYNOPSIS: A group of teenagers get into a car crash in the Texas woods on prom night, and then wander into an old farmhouse that is home to Leatherface and his insane family of cannibalistic psychopaths.

WOW WHAT A STORY. ON PAPER IT WOULD HAVE LOOKED SO AMAZING. BUT WHEN TRANSLATED ONSCREEN IT SUCKED BIG TIME. I NEVER THOUGHT THAT A HORROR MOVIE SO BAD WITH THE TCM INITIALS EXISTED. BUT GOT A RUDE SHOCK N LEARNT A LOT ABOUT WHAT NOT TO DO IN A HORROR MOVIE. FROM A DIFFRENT POV IT WAS GOOD THAT I WATCHED THIS MOVIE ;)

DIRECTED BY THE FIRST MOVIE'S WRITER KIM HENEKEL IT LOOKED BELOW PAR FROM THE FIRST FEW SCENES. ITS PRETTY AMAZING HOW HE COULD HAVE SCREWED UP SO BAD. HE WAS THE CLASSIC'S WRITER FOR CHRIST'S SAKE. N HIS SCRIPT TOO WASNT UP TO MARK TO SAY THE LEAST. YOU WERENT GETTING THE LAUGHS N SCARES WAS OUT OF THE QUESTION. WHAT WAS HE TRYING? COMEDY HORROR IS A TOUGH NUT TO CRACK. AND HE DIDNT CRACK IT AT ALL. PITY :)

MATTHEW MCCOUNAUGHEY N RENEE ZELLWEGER ACT WELL. INFACT I WAS WONDERING HOW TWO ROM COM SENSATIONS COULD ACT IN SUCH A DARK MOVIE. BUT THIS MOVIE WAS ANYTHING BUT DARK N IT HELPED THEM. SO THOSE TWO SOMEHOW GIVE A MUCH BETTER THAN THE REST PERFORMANCE. BUT CONSIDERING OTHERS WERE HOPELESS. ITS NOT A PRAISE.

EDITING,SOUND N CINEMATOGRAPHY WERE DECENT. BUT THE SCRIPT N DIRECTION WERE SO WEAK THAT NOTHING COULD HAVE SAVED THIS MOVIE. EXCEPT TOBE HOOPER MAYBE :)

ALL IN ALL A MOVIE WHICH YOU SHOULD ONLY SEE IF GETTING DRUNK OR YOU DONT WANNA USE YOUR BRAIN FOR THE NEXT 90MINS :)

HighTension Meter- 4/10.
