Review: Carriers(2009)

Today i was feeling like watching something i haven't heard about. And there weren't many horror movies that i haven't heard about and are watchable. But one more was added on that list today. I just randomly came across it on IMDb n decided to have a go. I did have a go and now comes forth the review.

The movie's name is Carriers. And people who haven't seen can guess that its about some people carrying some virus. That's right. Its about a world where humanity is almost extinct n those who are alive arent exhibiting any human behaviour as well. So basically a George a romero movie without zombies and the action. And that could be its biggest drawback as well. It's kind of a slowburn movie with sporadic action which wont interest many of the horror aficionados who like their horror spiced up.witb action n gore. It has its yucky moments but few n far between.

The directors Alex n David pastor are intent on showing the internal conflict and the real face of a fellow human when faced with a threat to its life. Movie doesn't show any kind of exposition about the virus n its effects. It just starts with four people wanting to go from point A to B without getting infected n with a rulebook of their own. To break the rules means to be left to die or to be killed. And with a plot as thin as this its natural it sags here n there, but somehow keeps the interest till the end.

And with a quite a bit of acting from the cast, reasonable background and some stunning camerawork it manages to keep you hooked. Except the middle where nothing seems to be happening. And for fans of zombie movies this would be excrutiating. This is more psychological than psychical.

But in the end well done to the director duo for keeping me glued even as things slowed down quite a bit and i definitely dont like slow burn too much.

HighTension Meter- 6/10.

Was this review useful??? Comment n thxxx for the read.
